Volt goes to 'Etterbeek Debate about European elections'

This is an external event visited by Volt, but which is not organised by Volt.

What kind of Europe will emerge from the ballot box on June 9, 2024? This question is central during a debate on February 8 in the presence of 5 European journalists.

For the municipal elections on October 13, 2024, another important electoral appointment is scheduled for June 9. Then we will choose the new representatives of the regional and federal parliaments, but also those of the European Parliament.

Why is it useful to participate in the European elections, who is allowed to vote, what are the challenges of these elections for our country and for the other member states? These and many other questions will be addressed during a debate organised by the municipality on Thursday, February 8, 2024. It will take place at 7 pm in the council chamber on the 2nd floor of the town hall (Kazernenlaan 31/1).

Everyone who is interested is welcome, and admission is free.

The debate will be led by five journalists who closely follow European current affairs: Dorota Bawolek (“Telewizja Polska”), Marco Bresolin (“La Stampa”), Esther Herrera Caro (“France 24” + “La Vanguardia”), Isabelle Ory (“L’Express”) and Pablo Rodriguez Suanzes (“El Mundo”).

As a reminder, new in this year's European elections is that all EU citizens are allowed to vote from the age of 16. Belgians automatically receive their summons letter. Registration is not necessary. Non-Belgian residents, on the other hand, must register as voters by March 31, 2024.
